Wells here a update for the week past. Sunday was hot here in South TX 102 in the shade. The wind felt like it was coming out of a large hair dryer. We ran both A/C's and stayed indoors. A couple of high 80's days. Not too busy yet, hauled 230 loads of road rock though our gate on Thur. and Friday, kept pretty busy checking trucks in and out. Rig is suppose to be on the 11th,will get busy then I bet.
The Brush is starting to green up again after getting froze back in that cold snap the 1st of Feb.
February broke records on both ends this year with a 19 in the first week and 102 last Sunday

Well yesterday 2/25 started out kinda exciting, while setting at the table I looked out the window which face's west where Hyw 83 run's about 100 yd's away from where we are parked on this gate halfway between Laredo and Carrizo Springs TX. And low and behold what do I spy but 2 illeagles trying to flag down a ride, course I didn't have any phone #s to report them yet so I called Teresa our Daughter who works for the BP in Eagle Pass and told her, she then reported to her station who called the Laredo station and they finally arrived and loaded them up. Then I went up the road about 13 miles to mail some letters and on the way back the dear wife called and said there were 2 more over there, so I hurried home an sure enough they were there, so I went on down the road about 9 miles to a BP check station and turned them in and got a couple of phone #s. Any way I got back and the BP came and loaded them up. The rest of the day was pretty dull.
Been really warm here, lows high 60's and high's up to the mid 90's

Well here's a run down of the last year.
After the Quad ride we went back to Lewistown to visit and got caught in a 3 day blizzard.
Memorial Day weekend was a busy one, we had to be in Rapid City SD for a memorial for the wife's Grandmother and on Sunday we had a graduation in Gillette WY, then back to Musselshell Mt for the Pig-Nic a fund raiser for the Musselshell School which is now the Comunity Center. We barbecue up some pork and baked beans for lunch on Sunday and Monday. From there we went back to Lewistown and cooked for the Mountain Rendevue which was held at the East fork Res. campground. Had the Wagon there for 5 days. We were at the Quigly Shoot in Forsyth Mt for the 3rd week of June. Spent the 4th of July in Roundup Mt and built a new Chuckbox at my brother in laws. We spent the rest of July in Manhattan Mt harassing grand kids. Set the Wagon up in front of the Yogo Inn in Lewistown for the Cowboy Poetry Gathering in August. The last week of August we met some friends from Or. in Hungry Horse Mt.. It was their 1st time in western Mt. so we showed them the sights. Set up the Wagon in Lewistown for the Chockcherry Festival in mid September, then cooked for a wedding the following weekend. Then it was time to head for Kipp Park on the Missouri River to watch the elk at Sipparyann Game Range the week of the 1st of Oct. After everything was stowed away for the winter in Lewistown it was on to Gillette WY. with a short stop in Shepherd Mt. After our visit in Gillette we headed slowly south to Texas. On the way we spent a few days at Mitchell SD and made day trips to Wessington Springs to research some of my wife's family history. Found a cemetary with several family graves & history in the community. Accidently was able to meet a distant cousin that was a very good friend of my wife's mother when they were children. From there we headed to Vermillion SD and visited with the wife's grandson Michael going to school there. Had a good time with him, his wife Christen, and our new great-granddaugthter Nevaeh. She was just a month old and was so tiny & cute. Then went on down to Kansas and stayed a few nights at a Casino and went over into Missouri to visit the Precious Moments Chapel. Bought a Brick for the walkway in front of the Chapel in memory of my late wife "Rae". She enjoyed the Chapel when she was there. It was my Christmas gift to my 6 girls. From there we went on down to Coffeyville KS where we spen several days researching McCaffree history. Found the Cemetary where Issac McCaffree is buried & 1 of his grandsons. Their Tombstones were tipped over so we cleaned them up and fixed them. From there we headed on down to Nowata OK and spent a week there researching more McCaffree history. Found serveral cemetaries and graves. But I am afraid I found more questions than anwers. Was able to get an old Cement street marker with the McCaffree name on it. It was named for the family. From there we went on into Texas. Was able to spend some time visiting with Barlow Dunbar, one of my cousins that lives near Loving TX. Then we spent some time in the Fort Worth area and found my great-grandmothers grave in Irving TX. Spent a day at the Stockyards and went to Billy Bob's, the largest Honkey-Tonk in Texas. Stopped in Dublin TX and visited the original Dr Pepper plant. Had an original Dr Pepper which they still bottle there. Had lunch there it was all good and very interesting. Then on down to New Braunfels for our 3rd year to manage a "Holiday Hills" Christmas tree lot. Spent about 7 weeks there. Lots of work. Then to Eagle Pass for a couple of weeks to visited Teresa & the grand kids. Now we are over by Laredo setting on an oil field gate as a "Gateguard". Boring but pays good.

Some friends, the Wife and I went on a 40 mile Quad ride yesterday West of Twin Bridges MT, there is an mining district dating back to 1863, there was a town named Rochester, nothing left but some rock walls and foundations. Guess there were around 5000 hardy soles in the area, none now though that you can see anyway. Saw lots of interesting old mines and prospect holes, lots of great views, on one ridge you can see the Mountains of the Yellowstone Park and the Grand Tetons of Wy from one spot. Saw 3 Bighorn Rams, got some good pics and tried to get them on here in a slide show, but didn't get that figured out yet. Still working on it. Tomorrow we're leaving Belgrade, going to spend 1 night in Livingston and then going to Lewistown to get the Wagon out and ready for the summer.

Nice sunny day in Montana, was thinking about washing the Rig but we're on the road again Tue and Wed and guess what,RAIN, so whats the use,just get dirty again.Guess we're going over to Butte tomorrow to get some skins for the Quad,needs them bad. Going on a ride Sunday with Rose and Ron over south of Butte. While in Butte will hit the junk shops to see what we can use on the Wagon, don't need much, looking for 1 or 2 16" or 20" Dutch Ovens.

Sitting here watching it snow,got about 3" so far. Still in Belgrade, be here anoth week then head to Lewistown to get the Wagon ready for the summer. Got a few deals lined up for it, will be fun.

We,re in Belgrade now,came over yesterday. Spent 4 days in Shepherd with a couple Daughters and the Grandkids. Aunt Karrie gave Tristen (age 7) a 2 year old filly and we got her started, got about 6 rides on her in the 4 days. Tristen named her Peaches and she is going to be his rope horse. His mom and him rode her yesterday and today and got along good. Had a great time with the rest of the kids and really enjoyed them.

Well we headed north on the 28th of March,got to Gillette WY on the 30th and promptly got snowed on. Left to soon again. Going on up to Roundup MT and drop of my folks and then on to Lewistown MT for Easter then back to Billings for Amandas BD and then on to Begrade MT to see Carols family for a couple weeks.

Wow a week in the new rig and its starting to feel like home. Still moving in though, inside is about done just my stuff outside, do abit every day and it will get done, got other things to do though Quad rides, Happy Hr or 2, visiting and just run of the mill stuff.

from the trailer today, lots of things in Wellton to load yet. Might have a sale in a couple of weeks.

Todays the day we move into the Motorhome. Have to be in Yuma for a walk through at 9 AM and the fun begins. Have most of our things in boxes and a lot stored here in Wellton so won't be to bad.Will stay in at the Dealers lot for a couple nights to make sure everything works.

Well last Friday we traded our truck and 5ver for a Class A Motorhome with 20,000 miles. Been busy packing and boxing stuff up. Will go into Yuma for a couple of days Monday and transfer and live in it before we leave the lot, that way if problem arises they will fix it right away. Kinda excited, will post some pics next week.
Been doing some 4 wheeling and GEO Caching in the desert around Wellton AZ where we are at. Went on a 7 hr ride today about a 100 mile over a lot of rocks and rough roads.

Well we are in Wellton Az tonight got in about 2 this PM.Got into snow yesterday AM in Texas go figure, driving lane was wet, passing lane still slick.
Spent 2 nights in Fort Stockton, went to the Fort and an hotel museum, then drove about 50 mile north to Pecos and looked it over and went to a museum there. Other wise a good trip.

We left Eagle Pass yesterday and pulled to Fort Stockton where we parked for 2 nights. Got up this AM and looked over the Fort and Museum also an old Hotel Museum, then drove up to Pecos to a Museum there and looked over the town. Kinda odd no Antique shops in these 2 towns. Will head out in the AM for AZ hope to get as far as Lordsburg NM tomorrow and then Wellton the next day. We'll see depends on how many stops we make.
Already missing Teresa and the kids.

Not much going on here,spending time with Teresa and giving the Kiddies a bad time,get lots of loving too.Teresa and Jay's friends from Presideo were here for a few days.

We took Eileen to the airport today with Teresa, long drive traffic wasn't to bad though. Seen a nice Whitetail buck on the road going over and on the way back saw a small herd of Javalinas about 20 with some little ones. Was a very nice day sunny and warm in the upper 60s.
Quite a rackett around here at midnight with all the fireworks and noise,woke Carol up I slept through it.

We got to Eagle Pass TX yesterday about 11:30 AM, set up and eat lunch and then a nap. Went over to Teresa's about 3 PM, took the kids to the park for awhile and then went back to the house and harassed them till supper time. Really enjoyed the visit. Will BQ some steak for supper tonight.

Went up to San Marcos to the tap room for supper tonight, they buy a big tree from us every year,good food at resonable price.

Twas Christmas Morn. when all through the house there was nothing going on, the kiddies are all at home up north while we are in Tx. Miss you Guys. Merry Christmas to one in all.

Kinda cool here in New Braunfels TX, about 33 this morning suppose to get into the high 50s today, going to be same-o same-o for a couple of days.

Going to the Holliday Hills Christmas party today, thats about all the excitment we're going to have.

We're done,trailer loaded and taken to the warehouse,ended with 1054 trees sold an 145 over last year.
Doing a little sight seeing while waiting for the xmas party on xmas day,then payday on Sat. and then to Eagle Pass on Sun.
Went to Schlitterbahn last night, its a water park all decorated up for Xmas, a million lights they say. They had several programs and a couple of light shows, was fun. Tonight went thr Grist Mill for supper, they buy a big tree from us every year and hang it upside down and decorate it, kinda interesting. Going back to Greune again tomorrow to look at their shops.

Well we broke 1000 trees yesterday, also ended the day 100 better than last year. Have 31 trees left,7 bigger Nobles and the rest are 5' and down. Should be done tomorrow or the next day,will start loading up the lot in the trailer tomorrow.

Hit 950 trees sold today, got 30 more 7-8 footers today so have a chance for 1000, just need to sell 20 aday over the weekend and we're there. Still kinda cool here but better than up north.
Eileen is flying in from basics tommorow,her dad is coming up from Eagle Pass to get her and their going to stop by,be nice to see her.

We are about to the end of the tree sales be lucky to make the weekend.Went over 900 yesterday, need 4 more to beat last year. Still cold and windy here today,highs in the high 40s. Be glad when its over and we can be gone.

Had a good weekend 74 trees 0n Sat. 81 on Sunday, have all the trees we're going to get in the tent now about 180, still a chance for 1000, probably be sold out by the weekend and then we can do some sight seeing before Xmas.

Wet and cool hear again today,getting kinda tired of it, better than hot and humid though. This will be our last big weekend, starting monday we'll be reducing the prices and getting the trees sold. Been a good year still about a 100 trees ahead of last year.
Might get to go and get an Axis Deer after Xmas,that will be different.

We sold our 600th tree yesterday about a 100 ahead of last year, nice day on the cool side, got some of the flocked trees ot and caught up on the flocking. Hope to get all the flocked trees out today.

Another good day at the tree lot,35 trees,22 last year.Was really busy with working up a load of trees. Kinda cool here with rain and fog, really damp. We both have been fighting a cold since we've been here.

Well the 1st 10 days are behind us at the tree lot. Real busy this weekend 94 trees both days,lots of greenery and stands. Quite a bit ahead of last year so far. Been kinda cool and damp here but lots better than the minus up north. Teresa and the kids came up from Eagle Pass and spent the weekend, really enjoyed them, Teresa was a big help with the trees as well as cooking some good meals. Thanks Teresa.

Rained most of the day hard,had lots of water in the tent. Worked up 70 trees and did some organizing. Was pretty chilly all day, hope it drys up some so I can flock some more trees.

Another busy day, worked up 70 trees with some big 8 & 9 footers, sold 51 trees so kept everyone hopping. Walked over to Chili's for supper.

Well we're 2 days into the the season and tired, 2 12 hr days, the rest of the week will be easier as we don't open till 11. Sold 56 trees yesterday and 65 today a little better than last year, lots of big trees up to 14 ft. so off to bed we go. Will get some pics on here in a day or two.

Howdy,

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving day and have a lot to be thankful for. We had a great day, went a friends family potluck, company was great as was the food, have a lot to be thankful for,our health is good, no sick kids and food to eat and a roof over our heads, what else do you need.

We are in New Braunsfell TX on a Xmas tree lot, have it all set up and ready to go. Tomorrow morning we open the gate and let the crowds in.
